AUTO SHANGHAI: BOGE Rubber & Plastics announces start of production in Wuxi

Damme/Shanghai. The automotive supplier BOGE Rubber & Plastics intends to further increase its market presence in China. CEO Dr. Torsten Bremer announced in the run-up to AUTO SHANGHAI that production would start at the plant in Wuxi, China this year. This means that the leading supplier of vibration control technology and plastic solutions for the automotive industry already has three production plants in China, namely in Qingpu, Zhuzhou and Wuxi. The BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group generates around 20 percent of global sales in China and plans to increase sales in China by a further 100 million euros with the new plant in Wuxi. The automotive supplier currently employs over 1,200 people in China.

BOGE Rubber & Plastics is taking part for the third time in AUTO SHANGHAI, Asia's leading trade fair for the automotive industry, which will take place from 16 April to 25 April 2019 in Shanghai (Hall 5.2, Stand 5BJ131). This year's AUTO SHANGHAI will focus on the digital car and alternative drive systems. The BOGE trade fair team, consisting of experts from China and Germany, will present the comprehensive product portfolio, from plastic components to rubber-metal components, to AUTO SHANGHAI visitors. Electric mobility will also be an important topic.

As a globally positioned company headquartered in Germany, with owners from China since 2014, the BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group has a broad and well-founded network in China. Until 2007, the automotive supplier was active in China as part of a majority joint venture. Since 2008, the company has had its own plant in Qingpu near Shanghai. Since 2017, the automotive supplier has been operating a second plant in Zhuzhou, China on the largest automotive market in the world with BOGE Rubber & Plastics Zhuzhou Co. Ltd. The Customer Service Center Asia (CSC Asia) was opened in 2018.

BOGE Elastmetall Shanghai Co. Ltd. is located in Qingpu with sales, development, prototype production, simulation, materials engineering and production. The product portfolio includes rubber-metal components (including noise and vibration damping) for chassis and powertrain as well as plastic components and modules for the global automotive industry. Today, the BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group is the largest supplier of lightweight pedal modules on the Chinese market.

Since 2017, the automotive supplier has been operating in the world's largest automotive market with BOGE Rubber & Plastics Zhuzhou Co. Ltd. a second plant in Zhuzhou, China. Products for automotive vibration control technology and acoustic insulation components are manufactured at the plant in Zhuzhou. The production program focuses on the manufacture of rubber-metal components for trucks and buses (commercial vehicle market). BOGE Rubber & Plastics Zhuzhou Co. Ltd. is engaged in the development, design, manufacture and sale of rubber-metal, plastic, lightweight and fiber composite parts as well as acoustic components for the automotive industry, mobile machinery and the railway industry.

Since 2018, the BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group has been operating a Customer Service Center Asia (CSC Asia) in Zhuzhou. With the new CSC Asia, the foundation will be laid to meet the requirements of local customers even better, to further increase service quality for customers and to continue to grow in Asia. At CSC Asia, employees from different locations work together in a joint team. This will further advance the networking of expertise within the BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group.

German joint pavilion at AUTO SHANGHAI

The BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group is one of 17 companies at AUTO SHANGHAI to exhibit their products and innovations at the German Pavilion. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and the AUMA Ausstellungs- und Messe-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V. (Association of the German Trade Fair Industry) will present the German Pavilion. Since its beginnings in 1985, AUTO SHANGHAI has developed into the leading trade fair for the automotive industry in Asia and has recorded a steady increase in exhibitors and visitors. In 2017, more than 1,000 exhibitors from 18 countries presented their products and services and used AUTO SHANGHAI as a platform for exchange and making important business contacts.
