Automotive Supplier on Growth Path

BOGE Rubber & Plastics Strengthening Position in China with Second Plant

Damme/Zhuzhou. BOGE Rubber & Plastics is continuing on its growth path: since the beginning of 2017, the company has been operating a second plant in China, the world’s largest automotive market. The Automotive Business Unit of Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd (TMT) is now integrated into BOGE Rubber & Plastics. TMT is the parent company of the automotive supplier BOGE Rubber & Plastics. The name of the new company, with approx. 200 employees, is BOGE Rubber & Plastics Zhuzhou Co. Ltd. This represents the second Chinese location for the BOGE Rubber & Plastics Group. Its first Chinese plant was opened in Qingpu (near Shanghai) in 2008.

Located in the city of Zhuzhou (Hunan Province), the new BOGE plant focuses on automotive products for vibration control technology and components for acoustic insulation. The core business of BOGE Rubber & Plastics Zhuzhou Co. Ltd. currently revolves around the manufacture of rubber-metal components for commercial vehicles and buses. In 2016 the Zhuzhou plant reported a turnover of approx. €29 million.

According to Dr Torsten Bremer, CEO of BOGE Rubber & Plastics, the second plant in China will enable the company to further strengthen its position as a leading supplier of vibration control technology and plastics solutions for the automotive industry: “We’re greatly expanding our product and customer portfolio. The new plant will not only give us direct access to local Chinese vehicle manufacturers, but also enable us to add acoustic absorption materials to our product line. This is an outstanding addition to our extensive range of rubber-metal products in the area of vibration control technology and will help us significantly increase our market share in China.”

As a result of these changes, Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd.(TMT) will now be managing all of its worldwide automotive activities through its subsidiary BOGE Rubber & Plastics. This means that, in the future, TMT will be focusing on products for vibration control technology and polymer composites for rail vehicles and other non-automotive industries, such as wind energy.
